After the death of Moses………God said to Joshua “Now, therefore, arise, go over to this Jordan (our Pakistan) (Joshua 1:2). “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon, I have given you as I said to Moses. (v.3) “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life:………I will not leave you nor forsake you”. (v.5) “Only be strong and very courageous……Do NOT turn from it (the Law of Moses) to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.” (v.7) “……and then you will have good success” (v.8).

“Have I not commanded (commissioned) you? Be strong and of good courage: do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (v.9)  

God’s guarantee of success in Pakistan and SE Asia is because of His presence and help in all we shall do. He will not allow Joshua or this mission to sink or fail.

As with the Book of Joshua, the first in a group of books called the Former Prophets, this “Commission” opens at the very doorstep of entrance into Canaan, (our Pakistan and SE Asia), were morally the people were depraved, immorality, lawlessness and brutality were commonplace. Canaanite religion emphasized fertility and sex and child abuse. The stage is set and the land is ripe for rescue.

Our “Commission” is clear as it was with Joshua, “partake in the valuable lessons that our positive attitude toward the nation is essential for God-given victory; principals of leadership; God’s faithfulness to His Word; and the example of His miraculous power!”
